Minister Gordan Jandroković received New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 2 May 2008 New Zealand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia

The two ministers described the relations between Croatia and New Zealand as traditionally good and friendly. Both sides confirmed that the possibilities for bi- and multilateral co-operation have additionally grown with Croatia’s non-permanent UN Security Council membership, as well as with the pending EU and NATO membership.

The two ministers agreed that there is room for a further development of bilateral co-operation, namely in economy. In that regard, the two reviewed the sectors with a trade-increase potential. Minister Jandroković pointed out that we are pleased to note a growing interest for Croatia among the New Zealand citizens, stressing the possibility of strengthening the tourism co-operation.

Minister Jandroković added that the Croatian ports of Rijeka and Ploče represent entry points for the New Zealand companies operating in Central and Eastern Europe.
