Both sides described the bilateral relations as excellent, dynamic and substantial in terms of contents. The Ministers concluded that the relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Hungary based on multidimensional cooperation could serve as the model of good relations between the neighbouring states.

In the talks on the Joint Session of the Governments of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Hungary, Ministers Jandroković and Balázs confirmed that these sessions were characterised by high political and economic importance, and they both reiterated support to continuing these sessions in the future. In this sense, they talked about the preparations for the upcoming Joint Session that will also make a significant contribution to the bilateral cooperation, and the region in general, the topics of which will include the discussion on cooperation between the countries in the context of relations with the European Union the North Atlantic Alliance, cross border cooperation, culture, science and technology, and minority issues. On that occasion 12 agreements will be signed that will even further intensify and enhance cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Hungary in different areas of mutual interest.

The Ministers confirmed that the economic relations between Croatia and Hungary were very good, and trading in the last years had been continuously increasing. Minister Jandroković pointed out his satisfaction with the fact that the Republic of Hungary was ranked fourth among foreign investors in Croatia. He expressed hope that the number of Hungarian tourists on the Croatian coast would increase, and he also invited the Hungarian side to invest in the tourism infrastructure.

Minister Jandroković also informed his collocutor about the course of Croatia’s accession negotiations for full membership of the European Union. He expressed hope that the intensive dialogue with Slovenia conducted so far would soon result in the solution acceptable to both sides so that Croatia’s negotiations would be unblocked and could continue. He underlined Croatia’s commitment to fulfilling the remaining obligations in accordance with the European Commission’s Indicative Timetable. He also expressed gratitude to Minister Balázs for continuous support of the Republic of Hungary to Croatia on its path to becoming a full member of the European Union.
