Minister Gordan Jandroković received Bavarian Parliament Speaker Alois Glück

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 20 June 2008 on official visit the Speaker of the Bavarian State Parliament, Alois Glück

Welcoming Bavarian Parliament Speaker Glück and his delegation, Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction over the fact that it was precisely Croatia that has been chosen as the destination of this year’s visit by the Parliament’s Presidency, especially since the Presidency in this composition officially visits another country only once a year.

Both sides agreed that the bilateral relations between Croatia and Bavaria are very good, friendly and partnership-like, and are reflected in the traditionally good bilateral relations between Croatia and Germany. Another confirmation of this is the constant intensity of all-level meetings.

Minister Jandroković thanked the Government of the Free State of Bavaria for the continuous and open support for Croatia’s Euro-Atlantic integration membership.

Minister Jandroković informed Speaker Glück about the current course of Croatia’s EU accession negotiations, further intensification of the reform activities, and a dedication to meeting the remaining obligations.

The collocutors exchanged opinions about the results of the Irish referendum regarding the Lisbon Treaty, namely in light of the further EU enlargement policy.

Opinions were also exchanged about Croatia’s relations with other countries of South Eastern Europe, where Minister Jandroković pointed out that security and long-term stability in the region are the basic goals of Croatia’s foreign policy.
