Minister Gordan Jandroković participated in Economic Forum

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković participated in the Economic Forum entitled “The Possibilities of Development and Economy Stimulation in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, held on 14 March 2008 at the Archbishopric Pastoral Institute in Zagreb

In his presentation entitled “Ways in Which the Croatian Governments Helped Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Minister Jandroković pointed out that is a constitutional and moral obligation of Croatia to care for expatriate Croats, including those in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Croatian Government is allocating considerable means for financing the cultural, educational, scientific, and health projects of BiH Croats, as well as offering the necessary assistance in the process of their return, while the program itself is financed from the Croatian budget, said Minister Jandroković.

Speaking about further plans, Minister Jandroković said that Croatia will continue to help Croats in BiH through the realisation of the launched projects, as well as by supporting new projects directed at ensuring a more quality education, health and social services, and the development of small- and middle-sized entrepreneurship. This will contribute to their survivability and the strengthening of their position in BiH. In that regard, Croatia also supports the Euro-Atlantic ambitions of BiH, which too will contribute to a more quality life and standard of all BiH nations.

The goal of the Economic Forum is to review through joint activities of the civil society and state structures the best solutions to the problems the Church and people in BiH are faced with. The Forum gathered high representatives of the Catholic Church from Croatia and BiH, public persons, experts and state officials in whose interest it is to improve the life in BiH and create perspectives for further development.
