Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić on margins of SEECP Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Sofia

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković met 28 February 2008, on the margins of the SEECP Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Sofia, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremić

In a short and open talk, the two ministers shared their views on the situation in the region, namely in the wake of Kosovo’s declaration of independence.

Despite the differences, the two concluded that regional co-operation among the countries of South Eastern Europe has no alternative, and that both sides will have to put forth maximum effort in preserving the stability in the region and its further stabilisation.

Minister Jandroković expressed concern over the recent attacks on the Croatian Embassy in Belgrade, with Minister Jeremić reiterating his regret, as well as the promise to advocate the quick identification and punishment of the perpetrators.

The two ministers also talked about further bilateral co-operation and the modalities of the continuation of solving the outstanding issues.
