Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan

After the meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Jandroković met on 27 February 2008, on the margins of the SEECP Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Sofia, with theDeputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Andrei Stratan

The two ministers reviewed the overall bilateral relations, describing them as good and with no outstanding issues. Both expressed a wish for their further strengthening and the intensification of co-operation on all levels, and agreed on the need to further enhance the economic relations.

The two ministers also assessed the two countries’ co-operation in the multilateral field, namely within the UN and through the new CEFTA platform, initiated by the Republic of Croatia.

Opinions were exchanged about the current situation in South Eastern Europe, with Minister Jandroković pointing out that one of the Croatian foreign policy’s permanent priorities is co-operation among the countries in the region. He added that Croatia wishes to develop close and comprehensive relations with the countries in this part of Europe, stimulate regional co-operation and thus play a constructive role in the region’s further stabilisation.
