The collocutors agreed that the bilateral relations between Croatia and Switzerland as very good and devoid of outstanding issues. A clear indication of this level of relations are certainly the regular high-official visits on both sides, which Minister Jandroković confirmed recalling his 2007 visit in the capacity of the chairman of the Croatian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Both sides expressed satisfaction with yesterday’s signing of two bilateral agreements (the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Swiss Federal Council on Regular Air Traffic, as well as the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Swiss Federal Council on Income Generating Activities of Persons Accompanying Members of Diplomatic Missions, Consular Offices and Permanent Missions), which would further enhance the two friendly countries’ relations. The collocutors also pointed out the important role of the large number of Croatia-descended Swiss citizens and their contribution to the current bilateral relations.

Minister Jandroković thanked for Switzerland’s assistance to Croatia, ranging from the humanitarian aid during the 90s to the current support for Croatia’s EU accession. He explained to his collocutor that Croatia’s membership negotiations with the EU are entering its final phase and are expected to close during 2010.

The collocutors also exchanged opinions about the possible enhancement of economic cooperation, for which both countries have set up the institutional framework, having signed all of the key economic agreements.
