Minister Jandroković attended opening of photo exhibition entitled “British and Croatian Allied Forces in the Service of Peace”

During his opening remarks, Minister Jandroković said the exhibition is a true-to-life portrayal of the Croatian soldiers’ daily contribution to the numerous peacekeeping missions and operations on the UN, EU and NATO, in tasks aimed at strengthening world peace and security

During his opening remarks, Minister Jandroković said the exhibition is a true-to-life portrayal of the Croatian soldiers’ daily contribution to the numerous peacekeeping missions and operations on the UN, EU and NATO, in tasks aimed at strengthening world peace and security. They have also captured the moments of the long-standing strategic partnership between Croatia and the UK and confirmed that since gaining its independence, Croatia has grown from a security recipient into a security provider, as well as a reliable partner within NATO and a country making decisions together with the world’s most important countries, said Minister Jandroković, stressing the principle of alliance.

The exhibition shows the successful cooperation between the British and Croatian forces in NATO’s mission to Afghanistan, which is seeing Croatia’s biggest contribution to global security. Minister Jandroković took the opportunity to announce his participation in the forthcoming International Conference on Afghanistan, to be held January 28th in London, which is to renew and strengthen the international community’s support for the reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan.

Minister Jandroković remarked that Croatia’s efforts in Afghanistan are directed at building a society capable of assuming the responsibility for its own security, which is why Croatia’s most valuable contribution to Afghanistan is precisely the training of its army, which is to spread this year to police training as well.

Since the exhibition was co-organized by the Croatian Ministry of Defence and the British Embassy in Zagreb, opening remarks were also held by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Pjer Šimunović and British Ambassador to Croatia David Blunt.
