Minister Gordan Jandroković held speech at plenary session of Croatia Summit 2009, Dubrovnik

Minister Jandroković spoke about the new ideas and projects that could contribute to the stability and development of South East Europe

Minister Jandroković spoke about the new ideas and projects that could contribute to the stability and development of South East Europe. In this context, the Minister underlined two fields where the Republic of Croatia had experiences that could be helpful to other countries. Firstly, in the last years the road infrastructure had significantly contributed to economic development, and owing to a high level of competence and expertise of domestic companies, it listed Croatia among the leading countries in road construction. This is precisely the area where we see great potential for further progress and development not only of the Croatian economy, but for the overall economic development of the entire region, said Minister Jandroković. The second important area the Minister mentioned was environmental protection, saying that the Croatian environmental protection systems were being continuously and swiftly improved and aligned with the European Union standards. It is our firm belief that sustainable development in the area of environmental protection can be achieved through solidarity and co-operation between the countries, said Minister Jandroković.

At the end of his presentation the Minister emphasised how in this critical economic period it was very important for all South East European countries to use the advantages under the CEFTA Agreement, adding that Croatia was willing to participate with the neighbouring countries in the cross-border projects in the areas of trade, environmental protection, energy efficiency, enterprise development and other projects that were the best engines of stability and development.
