Croatian Foreign Minister Dr Miomir Žužul met in New York at the margins of the 59th UN General Assembly with Malta’s Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi
Prime Minister Gonzi shared Malta’s experiences in negotiating with the EU, adding that Malta has successfully done its job and has joined the EU in May this year. The Maltese minister offered to transfer Malta’s experience, that can be extremely useful to Croatia, as both are Mediterranean countries and share a lot of common traits. Gonzi and Žužul described the relations between the two friendly countries as excellent and with no open issues. It was pointed out that the economic co-operations needs to be strengthened, especially in tourism and maritime affairs.
Minister Žužul invited Minister Gonzi on behalf of Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to pay an official visit to Croatia before the end of this year. Lawrence Gonzi accepted the invitation.
