Minister Dr Miomir Žužul received a parliamentary delegation of the SPD Party from Bundestag

On 16 September 2004, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Dr Miomir Žužul received a parliamentary delegation of the Social Democrat Party of Germany (SPD) from German Parliament (Bundestag), headed by Detlef Dzembritzki with his co-workers and Charge d'Affaires of German Embassy to Croatia, Laurids Hölscher

Both sides underscored excellent relations between the two countries, which are on a permanent rise. Minister Žužul stressed that Germany always supports the Republic of Croatia when its needs it. The Minister informed the delegation about the strategic goals of the Republic of Croatia and called for support for Croatian candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Councils in the period 2008-2009.

Members of the delegation of the Social Democrat Party of Germany from German Parliament were interested in the relations between Croatia and its neighbours and to what extent the political success of Croatia might influence the neighbouring states and the region at large.

Minister Žužul said the relations between Croatia and its neighbours in the region are good, and he stressed the determination of Croatian Government in its efforts to enable the refugees who want to return to Croatia to do so. The delegation of the Social Democrat Party of Germany expressed full concurrence with Croatian political views, but it also expressed concern about the situation in Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania as potential trouble spots in the region.
