The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs welcomes the Maltese authorities’ decision to cancel transitional arrangements regarding the free movement of Croatian workers onto Malta’s labour market

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs welcomes the Maltese authorities’ decision to cancel transitional arrangements regarding the free movement of Croatian workers onto Malta’s labour market in accordance with the UN-Croatia Accession Treaty, about which the Maltese Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion informed in a diplomatic note 28 February 2018.

This decision equates Croatian citizens with the citizens of other EU member states. In keeping with the principle of reciprocity, restrictions on the employment of Maltese citizens in Croatia have also been lifted, which will contribute to the strengthening of business ties and the two countries’ overall relations.
