MFAEI taking part in “Knowledge against Prejudice”, a project of the Croatian Student Association, as a part of the EU Days

As a part of the European Week 3-10 May 2005, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is again taking part this year in a project of the Croatian Student Association called the EU Days.

In the lobby of the Faculty of Economy, a MFAEI stall was set up, as well as the promotional stalls of the EU members, while lectures will be held in Hall 16 by government representatives, university professors, experts and other distinguished guests, on various EU-related topics.

On the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the EU Days at the congress hall of the Faculty of Economy, 5 May 2005 at 11 P.M., attended also by the Croatian President Stjepan Mesić, the welcome speeches will be delivered by Goran Mak, president of the Croatian Student Association, prof. Deša Milkotin Tomić, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economy, and Jasna Mileta, Assistant Minister at the MFAEI. Along with the ambassadors of the EU members, the gathering will also see Finance Minister Ivan Šuker, Mayor of the city of Zagreb Vlasta Pavić, State Secretary at the MFAEI Gordan Bakota, Vice-Mayor of the city of Zagreb Milan Bandić, Dean of the Faculty of Economy Ivan Lovrinović, advisor at the Delegation of the European Mission to Zagreb Christos Makridis, and other distinguished guests. After the welcome speeches, the Croatian President will address the meeting, and will later visit the stands accompanied by the ambassadors.

Apart from the other informative-educational activities, this year’s EU Days will also feature workshops where students from the new EU members will share their experiences with their Croatian colleagues regarding the process of acceding to the EU.
