MFAEI informed by Slovenian MFA: Croatian citizens will no longer be able to enter Slovenia with old ID cards

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia that as of 21 March 2008, Croatian citizens will no longer be able to cross the Croatian-Slovenian border with old ID cards

The note from the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads that the old ID cards do not meet the security standards of the EU. As of 21 March 2008, crossing the Croatian-Slovenian border will require passports or new ID cards, issued in Croatia since 1 January 2003, or, like before, a special form issued by relevant bodies.
