First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić as part of her official visit to China met with Mayor of Shanghai Yang Xiong. “We think Croatia should focus on one city or region only, and consider Shanghai to be an excellent choice,” Pusić said. She reiterated Croatia’s proposal to implement one specific project that would at the same time identify obstacles to doing business so that future projects would be easier to realize. A pilot project of that kind would benefit not only Croatia and China but the EU as well, given that Croatia as a member has all the same rules. Pusić also outlines Croatia’s new economic diplomacy system, conceived precisely in order to promote Croatian economy and facilitate project realization. Yang recalled his visit to Zagreb in September this year, adding that he was convinced these visits would contribute to the strengthening of economic cooperation, as would the free trade zones opened in Shanghai.
