The Croatian government’s humanitarian aid, gathered through a public competition, was shipped to Libya in accordance with the health sector priorities identified by the Libyan side. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration coordinated the action of sending the aid to Tripioli via WFP/UNHAS airplane.

This represents a continuation of the Croatian government’s activities that began with shipping medication and medical supplies to Libya by sea. This million-kuna worth of humanitarian aid, including medication donated by Belupo and medical supplies provided by the Croatian government through the Ministry of Defence, should reach Benghazi by the end of this month.

The Republic of Croatia has been actively participating from the onset of the Libyan crisis in the international community’s efforts to prevent further escalation of the conflict and instigate peaceful transition, as well as in the international humanitarian activities aimed at bringing the necessary aid to the Libyan people. In that regard, Croatia will remain an active partner and continue to support the international community’s efforts in humanitarian protection of the Libyan people.
