Italy ratifies Protocol on NATO Enlargement to Croatia

This completes the ratification procedure in both houses of the Italian Parliament

This act makes the Italian Parliament the 15th of the 26 NATO members to have ratified the Protocol, following Hungary, Latvia, the US, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Turkey, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, and the Czech Republic.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration considers this ratification an important step forward in the overall process of Croatia’s NATO accession, and firmly believes that Croatia is ready to assume a larger responsibility in global relations, taking on a more active role, as well as a more prominent position in the international community.
