On 27 January 70 years ago, Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated. On this day we mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day when we remember and pay our respects to the victims of Nazi crimes, victims who were killed simply because of their race or religion. By commemorating their suffering, we express our willingness to fight jointly all forms of anti-Semitism, racism, discrimination and intolerance towards others solely because they are different.

Croatia is a member of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and is actively involved in Holocaust education, research and commemoration, so that such evil would not reoccur.
