Inaugural visit from Greek Ambassador Athanassios Paressoglou

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman received Athanassios Paressoglou, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Croatia, on his inaugural visit.
 
During their discussions, both parties expressed satisfaction with the close and friendly bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the regular high-level political dialogue. A mutual desire was voiced to intensify sectoral cooperation, particularly in the context of their shared Mediterranean identity and the further development of existing economic and infrastructure potential. Special attention was given to exchanging views on the situation in Ukraine and current European issues, such as EU enlargement and the protection of its external borders.
 
Grlić Radman expressed gratitude for Greece's support of Croatia's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He also highlighted the mutual solidarity in times of crisis as one of the commendable hallmarks of Croatian-Greek bilateral relations.
