Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 16 October 2018 received the incoming ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Robert Klinke.

The two officials voiced satisfaction with the traditionally friendly and partnership relations between Croatia and Germany in a number of areas, highlighting the dynamic economic cooperation. Germany is Croatia’s number one trade partner and one of its biggest investors, while German tourists are the most numerous. They underscored the Croat community in Germany as an important link in the Croatian-German relations.

Pejčinović Burić and Klinke agreed that the two countries’ cooperation in the coming period would additionally intensify in the European field, given that Germany is to take over the chairmanship of the Council of the EU from Croatia in 2020.
