Government adopts action plan to support exports

The government adopted at today’s session an action plan to support exports in 2014-2015

The government adopted at today’s session an action plan to support exports in 2014-2015.

The action plan aims to build a system of quality and sustained government’s support to exporters in all stages of export – from product development, financing, education and cutting red tape to support abroad. It was drafted based on direct input from Croatian exporters and business associations, gathered through months of counselling and a comprehensive survey.

The document was drafted by the Croatian Economy Internationalisation Commission, which comprises 19 state administration bodies and business associations and is coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The Commission and the action plan are a part of the new model of Croatia’s economic diplomacy, launched more than a year ago.

The government’s support for exports stems from the fact that they are one of the major driving forces behind the country’s economic recovery. Although only 13% of Croatian companies are exporters, they employ 50% of all employed and represent the healthiest segment of Croatian economy.
