General Assembly of 22nd national session of European Youth Parliament Croatia held in Croatian Parliament

The session was also attended by Head of the Education Department Ana Marija Žuvan, who delivered a speech on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration

Expressing satisfaction with this initiative that contributes to a stronger involvement of young people in shaping the common European future, she pointed out that for years the MFAEI had been bringing closer the topics of EU and Croatia’s succession to the younger population through various projects, such as the “ABC of the EU” educational series for civil servants, as well as lectures across the counties and in elementary and high schools. She also emphasized that the EU, through various programs that promote education, science and cooperation, offers the possibility of an even more diverse education and greater mobility.

This year’s third session of the European Youth Parliament Croatia was held October 22-25 in Zagreb. This was also the last session of the cycle dedicated to 2009 as the European year of creativity and innovation, held under the auspices of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development. The session primarily discussed the promotion of creativity and innovation in the field of sustainable development, civil liberties, social issues, media, technology, environmental protection, employment, as well as economic and monetary issues.

The European Youth Parliament Croatia is a part of the network of 32 national branches of the European Youth Parliament, which is working across Europe to raise young people’s consciousness about European affairs and incite them to take active part in society.
