First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić met on Friday with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Saad-Eddine El Othmani during his official visit to Croatia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić met on Friday with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Saad-Eddine El Othmani during his official visit to Croatia.

“We are cooperating in various economic projects which we have talked about today, notably tourism and subsidised housing – a model that has been developed in Croatia and is interesting to Morocco,” Pusić said, adding that Morocco was also interested in servicing firefighting aircraft at the Aeronautical Technical Centre in Velika Gorica. She also mentioned cooperation in culture.

El Othmani said that the two countries had similar political positions, especially when it came to stability and security of the Mediterranean.

“The issues of Mali and the Sahel region are very important to us. Stability is crucial for the Southern Mediterranean countries. As far as Mali is concerned, we hope they will succeed in the peaceful transition into a stable and democratic country,” El Othmani said, emphasizing that economic ties were the foundation of two countries’ cooperation. He congratulated Croatia on the upcoming EU entry.

“Rest assured that Morocco will be a reliable partner to Croatia,” said the Moroccan minister.

After the meeting, the two ministers officially opened the first Moroccan residential embassy in Zagreb.
