FM Pejčinović Burić attends GAC

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 25 September 2017 in Brussels participated in a meeting of the General Affairs Council and General Affairs Council (Article 50)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 25 September 2017 in Brussels participated in a meeting of the General Affairs Council and General Affairs Council (Article 50), a special format dealing with the Brexit talks.

The meeting saw the ministers reviewing the priorities of Estonia’s Council of the EU presidency, starting preparations for the upcoming meeting of the European Council (19 and 20 October 2017) and exchanging opinions about the European Commission’s Letter of Intent.  The Commission and Poland informed the ministers about the current state of play in regards to their dialogue on the rule of law. Croatia underscored the importance of the rule of law as well as the principle that solutions should be sought through dialogue, while respecting, not violating international agreements.
