FM Pejčinović Burić attends conference on EIP

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić 8 June 2018 attended a conference on the European External Investment Plan (EIP)

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić 8 June 2018 attended a conference on the European External Investment Plan (EIP), organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) and the European Commission. The conference was opened by HGK Chairman Luka Burilović, with an address by European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica.

Pejčinović Burić presented to the participants the benefits of the EIP for Croatian businesspeople in entering new markets. The EIP’s aim is to stimulate investment by the private sector into developing partner countries in Africa and the European neighbourhood in order to achieve global development goals and influence the cause of migrations directly. In the broader context of development cooperation, including the private sector contributes to the realization of Agenda 2030. Pejčinović Burić also underlined the 2017-2021 National Strategy of Development Cooperation, which recognizes the private sector as a crucial partner.
