The Croatian Diplomatic Club 7 June 2018 at Dverce Palace organized a reception to mark the Croatian Diplomacy Day. The event was opened by President of the Croatian Diplomatic Club Smiljan Šimac, with addresses by Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić and Apostolic Nuncio Giuseppe Pinto.

Pejčinović Burić recalled that diplomacy had played an important role in the successful reinstatement of Croatia’s statehood. She underlined that today the focus is on European unity and transatlantic ties, along with the development and stability of Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean. Apart from bilateral relations, the Croatian foreign policy is also engaged in the multilateral field, both in economic and security-related issues. Pejčinović Burić stressed that Croatia needed a modern, efficient diplomacy in order to respond to future challenges of foreign policy. Congratulating the Croatian Diplomacy Day, Pejčinović Burić thanked all the former and present Croatian diplomats for their contribution to the service and the homeland.
