Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on April 8 participated in an informal video conference of EU foreign and development ministers.

The conference focused on concrete measures and efforts by the EU member states, with an emphasis on the development aspect and helping partner countries.

"As the country chairing the Council of the EU, Croatia is fully aware of its responsibility to European citizens as well as citizens of partner countries," Grlić Radman said, underlining the importance of cooperation with the neighbouring countries in Southeast Europe and the Eastern Partnership.

Given the EU's role as a geopolitical actor, Grlić Radman said that Europe and the rest of the world rightfully expected a systematic and aligned response to the crisis.

In addition, the ministers agreed it was necessary to support the most vulnerable countries in Africa and Asia, which are particularly susceptible to the devastating effects of COVID-19.

Conclusively, Grlić Radman underscored that solidarity and unity should remain the guiding principles of EU's actions.
