Today’s telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov reviewed the Croatia-Russia relations. The two ministers agreed it was necessary to strengthen the two countries’ economic ties and in that regard agreed to hold bilateral consultations, a session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Trade Relations and meet personally.

Kovač and Lavrov also discussed the situation in Southeast Europe, notably Bosnia and Herzegovina, underlining the need to work on the survival and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina based on the Dayton peace agreement and respect for the principle of equality for all three ethnic groups – Croats, Serbs and Bosniaks.
