Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday held a video conference with non-EU ambassadors to Croatia, informing them about the progression of Croatia's presidency, Zagreb summit and measures against COVID-19.

Even though the EU-Western Balkans Summit took place via video conference, it proved that EU leaders were ready for a more intensive dialogue with the Western Balkan countries. Recalling the three main messages of the Zagreb summit - commitment to EU perspective of the Western Balkans, solidarity and partnership during the COVID-19 outbreak, and the Western Balkan countries' commitment to European values and reforms - Grlić Radman underscored that Croatia would continue to advocate credible and efficient enlargement policy.

The minister expressed concern over the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on multilateralism and the extant conflicts in the world, adding that it had deepened the divide among many of the warring parties. He said that Croatia strongly supported the UN Secretary-General's call for global truce. The minister also recalled that the EU had earmarked EUR 15.6 billion worth of aid as part of the Team Europe package to help partner countries fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Grlić Radman exchanged views with the ambassadors on the current global events, from the Middle East and Sahel to the Eastern Partnership, Asia, and North and Latin America. Moreover, the minister thanked the countries who had helped Croatia curb the COVID-19 outbreak and clean up after the Zagreb earthquake.
