FM holds talks with UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 28 May 2019 met with Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili. Pololikashvili is in Zagreb for the 64th meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe, during which election of representatives in the UNWTO Executive Council will also be held.

Pejčinović Burić and Pololikashvili exchanged views on the UNWTO’s plans and activities, the importance of tourism for economic development, as well as offering development aid in tourism. In that regard, the two officials discussed Croatia’s expertise in successfully revitalizing the tourism sector after the Homeland War and the prospects of transferring those experiences to developing countries.
