Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 12 November 2019 paid an official visit to the Italian Republic

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 12 November 2019 paid an official visit to the Italian Republic.

In Rome, Grlić Radman met with Italian Minister for European Affairs Vincenzo Amendola. The two officials underlined very good neighbourly relations, while Amendola voiced full support for Croatia’s joining the Schengen Area, Eurozone and OECD, adding that Italy wished to cooperate with Croatia in the realization of its EU presidency priorities.

The two ministers also discussed topical EU matters, such as MFF, Brexit and enlargement. Grlić Radman expressed regret that no agreement had been reached on launching entry talks with Albania and North Macedonia, which Croatia had been strongly pushing for. He underscored the importance of the EU-Western Balkans summit in May 2020, which should sent a clear and encouraging message to those countries.
