Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 29 January 2020 received Greek Foreign Minister Nikolaos Georgios Dendias, who was on a working visit to Croatia.

The two ministers underscored satisfaction with the intensified dialogue and stronger economic cooperation between Croatia and Greece, notably in the areas of transport and energy connections, military industry and maritime affairs.

Grlić Radman and Dendias discussed the priorities of the Croatian Presidency, with emphasis on the Conference on the Future of Europe and the EU-Western Balkans Summit, to be held in May 2020. They also reflected on the current EU topics such as migrations, MFF and Brexit.

Grlić Radman underlined Croatia’s strong support for the continuation of the EU enlargement policy as well as for boosting security and stability in the region. Both ministers were supportive of opening accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia, as confirmed by the Joint Declaration signed by the Quadrilateral (Croatia, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria) during UNGA 74.

Grlić Radman and Dendias went on to agree that cooperation within the EU institutions was the basis for successful bilateral cooperation, which contributes to the fulfilment of common European goals.
