Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 19 January 2020 in Brussels attended a ministerial conference of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA)

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 19 January 2020 in Brussels attended a ministerial conference of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).

The IHRA, which Croatia joined in 2005, is dedicated to supporting Holocaust education, remembrance and research, as well as fighting against dissemination of false information, ignorance and hate.

“Croatia attaches great importance to educating the youth about the causes and consequences of the Holocaust. Holocaust education is a part of Croatia’s school curriculum. The IHRA’s recommendations on Holocaust education have been translated to Croatian and will be presented at the national conference on holocaust education end-January,” said Grlić Radman.

The ministers adopted a declaration calling for the strengthening of international political cooperation and reconfirming of collective commitment to fighting Holocaust denial, antisemitism and all other forms of discrimination.

The declaration also marked the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Stockholm Declaration, the cornerstone of the IHRA.
