FM attends commemoration of European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 24 August 2019 in Mostar attended the commemoration of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian and Autocratic Regimes as the envoy of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. As part of the commemoration at the Cemetery of Peace, remains of 41 unidentified WW2 victims were buried. The ceremony was led by Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić.

Addressing the event, Glić Radman underlined the need to cherish the culture of remembrance for all the victims of totalitarian and autocratic regimes and pay one’s respects, so that such things never happen again.

The European Parliament designated 23 August as the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian and Autocratic Regimes.
