Exhibition of Croatian elementary school children’s drawings opened at Croatian Embassy to Berlin

At the Croatian Embassy to Berlin, an exhibition was opened 13 December 2005 of the Croatian elementary school children’s drawings on the topic of the Millennium Development Goals, unanimously adopted by all UN members at the 2000 Millennium Summit

The exhibition is a result of the competition published by the UNICEF Croatian Office within the Croatian Millennium Development Goals program.

Through their drawings, the children expressed their view of the issues of poverty, education, gender equality, child and maternal health, fighting AIDS, environmental protection, etc.

The exhibition, also organised on the UN Day in October as a donation exhibition at the MFAEI, was put on at the initiative of MFAEI Division for Cultural Promotion, fitting in perfectly with the Christmas concert traditionally held at the Croatian Embassy by the students of the Berlin schools with Croatian language classes.

Present at the concert and the exhibition were the parents, teachers and headmasters of those schools. The visitors showed great interest and asked numerous questions, especially regarding the drawings’ topics, which they found interesting to compare with the topics and issues met by German elementary school children.
