Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received European Parliament’s Croatia Rapporteur Hannes Swoboda

Minister Jandroković informed Rapporteur Swoboda about the efforts the Croatia was taking to close the negotiations by the end of Hungary’s EU presidency and then sign the Accession Treaty as soon as possible

Minister Jandroković informed Rapporteur Swoboda about the efforts the Croatia was taking to close the negotiations by the end of Hungary’s EU presidency and then sign the Accession Treaty as soon as possible. He pointed out that the Croatian Government was determined to carry on with the reforms in order to meet the criteria of the remaining open chapters, especially the justice system and public administration reform, combating corruption and shipbuilding restructuring.

Minister Jandroković and Rapporteur Swoboda considered the European Parliament’s role in the final phase of Croatia’s negotiations, touching on the coming Croatia Progress Report as well.

The collocutors agreed that Croatia’s EU membership would have a positive effect on the further enlargement of the Union and the countries of South Eastern Europe.
