Minister Jandroković discussed the latest European Parliament’s Croatia Progress Report

Minister Jandroković discussed the latest European Parliament’s Croatia Progress Report, pointing out that Croatia was ready to carry out the remaining reforms in order to close the negotiations by the end of Hungary’s EU presidency in June this year.

He added that the Report was extremely useful and provided clear guidelines on the steps still to be taken so that Croatia could fulfil its obligations in a timely manner and prove its full readiness for EU membership.

Minister Jandroković familiarized the European MPs with the Croatian Government’s Action Plan on Chapter 23 – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, which gives the relevant ministries clear deadlines for meeting the set criteria.

In regard to the other chapters, he pointed out that Croatia expected further progress at the next intergovernmental conference, announced for 19 April this year.

The collocutors also touched on the current situation in South Eastern Europe, agreeing that Croatia’s success in the Euro-integration process could serve as proof to all of the countries in the region that met the required criteria that the EU membership was attainable.
