Minister Jandroković thanked MEP Vajgl for supporting Croatia’s EU membership, which he has expressed on numerous occasions, both personally and on behalf of his political group.

The minister informed his collocutor about the actions the Croatian government was taking in the final phase of the negotiations in regard to satisfying the criteria from Chapter 23 – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, and pointed out that by meeting the criteria Croatia hoped to confirm its credibility and full readiness for membership in the European Union.

Minister Jandroković also presented the activities the government had undertaken or planned to undertake as part of the Communication Strategy for informing the Croatian citizens about the EU, while MEP Vajgl shared Slovenia’s experiences with the communication campaign.

The meeting also discussed the Hague Tribunal’s verdicts, with Minister Jandroković reporting on the positions of the Croatian state leadership and the actions to legally disprove the thesis about a joint criminal enterprise.

MEP Vajgl said he was well aware of what the Homeland War meant for the Croatian citizens, pointing out the judicious reactions by the Croatian state leadership.
