Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affair Joško Klisović received the incoming ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Deng Ying. The strengthening of economic cooperation is a priority in the two countries’ relations, while Croatia’s EU membership opened up new possibilities of cooperating with China that need to be exploited more actively. Klisović and Ying also agreed that it was necessary to take advantage of all the possibilities within the cooperation between China and the 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which Croatia is participating in primarily through the realization of economic projects. Klisović mentioned the tenders for major infrastructural projects, which have drawn interest among Chinese investors as well. The two officials also discussed other aspects of bilateral relations and the visits planned for 2014-2015.
