Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović informed the delegation about the prospects of economic cooperation, with an emphasis on the shipbuilding sector. He underlined Croatia’s longstanding tradition of building various types of ships and pointed out the possibility of using the ports of Rijeka, Zadar and Ploče for importing Brazilian products into Europe. He said Croatia’s geopolitical position was one of its key advantages, stressing that infrastructure development and realization of energy projects were the government’s economic priorities.

Carlos Eduardo Macedo, vice-president of the Brazilian Union of Shipbuilding, Shiprepair and Offshore Industries SINAVAL, said Brazil was interested in cooperation in shipbuilding and oil platform construction, and reported on the upcoming talks on the subject with representatives of Croatian shipyards.
