The third Ron Brown Forum themed “Entrepreneurship and Risk Capital – Strengthening Ties Between US Companies and Southeast European Entrepreneurs” was held on 8 and 9 April in Zadar. Opening addresses were delivered by Assistant Foreign Minister Joško Klisović, US Ambassador to Croatia Kenneth Merten, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Minister Gordan Maras, Croatian Chamber of Economy President Nadan Vidošević and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker.

The forum brought together about 200 entrepreneurs, investors and representatives of investment funds from Southeast Europe and the US. In his address, Klisović said the new dynamic of Croatia’s economic diplomacy contributed to the revitalization of Croatian economy by attracting foreign investors and promoting export, notably on part of middle-sized entrepreneurship as the most propulsive part of the economy. The resulting intensification in economic relations is reflected in political relations as well. By co-organizing the forum with the US partners, the Croatian government wants to help in recognizing this part of Europe as a desirable trade and investment destination. Croatia will be a partner whose pending integration into the EU internal market will contribute to the economic and political stabilization of the region, Klisović said.

Klisović held talks with Reeker about cooperation and Euro-Atlantic prospect of Southeast Europe.
