The opening ceremony saw a performance by the Croatian Folklore Group from Brisbane, while the Ivan Gundulić theatrical group from Perth did a premiere of Marin Držić’s comedy “Dundo Maroje”, performed in Australia for the first time. The show was attended by Croatian Ambassador to Australia Vicencije Biuk, Deputy Premier of Western Australia Kim Hames, Australian MPs Tony Krstičević and Ljiljana Ravlich, as well as representatives of the consular corps.

After the premiere, the Croatian Pavilion was officially opened by President of the Royal Agriculture Society of West Australia Tony Devitt, on behalf of the organizers, and Croatian Ambassador Vicencije Biuk.

The pavilion’s stands featured 23 Croatian companies and offered Croatian products such as wine, beer, olive and squash seed oil, as well as mineral water. Working at the pavilion are numerous volunteers from the Croatian community of Western Australia.

The accompanying program also features grass bowling tournaments and golf.
