Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul headed the Croatian delegation composed of Croatian Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro Tonči Stančić, Croatian Consul General to Kotar Petar Poljanić and the Mayor of Dubrovnik Dubravka Šuica, on an official visit to Montenegro 30-31 May
The hosts congratulated Croatia on its progress in approaching the Euro-Atlantic integrations, which should give incentive to the whole region, including Montenegro, to follow Croatia’s example. Minister Žužul pushed for the protection of the rights of Montenegrin Croats, which was supported by Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović and prime Minister Milo Đukanović. The two sides agreed on the pending meetings between ministers for transportation and sea, and foreign ministers. The two sides discussed the co-operation between Dubrovnik and Tivat, a quick setting up of a bus transportation line between Croatia and Montenegro, and a stronger co-operation in tourism. Visits by Prime Ministers Ivo Sanader and Milo Đukanović were agreed on in principle. The Croatian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Žužul, also met with the representatives of Croatian associations in Montenegro, and visited the Bishop of Kotor, His Eminence Ilija Janjić.
