Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional Authorities elects Dubravka Šuica vice-president of the House of Local Authorities

At the plenary session of the Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Head of Croatian delegation Dubravka Šuica was elected the first vice-president of the House of Local Authorities

Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, which consists of the House of Local Authorities and the House of Regional Authorities, represents the voice of Europe’s regions and local units, defending and promoting local and regional democracy, and the exchange of experiences at a local and regional level. The Bureau has 17 members and reaches the decisions regarding the Congress’ activities, such as monitoring elections, choosing reports for the plenary session, and other activities in its field. Dubrovnik’s Mayor Šuica will as the Congress’ first vice-president will replace the president of the House of Local Authorities, Halvdan Kards from Norway, and president of the House of Regional Authorities, Giovano Di Stasi from Italy, not only at the Congress’ regular sessions, but in all other occasions, thus representing all of the EU members.
