Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul received today, 26 April 2004, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to an inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Croatia, Mihail Konarovski

Talking about the current bilateral relations with Russia, Minister Žužul said that the Russian side can rest assured that the Croatian leadership will advocate a balanced approach in foreign policy, pointing out that friendly Russian-Croatian relations, among other foreign policy priorities, are of the utmost importance. Minister Žužul emphasised that Croatia is optimistic about the development of bilateral relations with Russia, especially in the field of economy. Minister Žužul said that he hopes that Družba Adria project, which is of extreme economic and strategic importance to Croatia, will be brought to a end to the mutual benefit of the participant countries, if the forthcoming ecological Study on the Protection of the Adriatic is positive. Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul once again invited the Russian Foreign Minister Sergej Lavrov to visit Croatia and wished the newly appointed Ambassador Mihail Konarovski a successful work and stay in Croatia.
