Ambassador Del Vechio informed Mayor Majchrowski about the activities realized so far by the Polish-Croatian Trade and Industry Chamber, as well as the plans for the following year. They also talked about founding the Polish-Croatian Friendship regional society in Krakow, whose founding session is to be held end-November this year. Mayor Majchrowski showed great interest in said activities, expressing hope in the realization of the cooperation planned between the Krakow School of Mining and Metallurgy and the Zagreb Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering on the development of new and renewable energy sources.

Since the Croatian Embassy in Warsaw is the honorary sponsor of the “Sun and Adventure” project for the child carcinoma patients, Ambassador Del Vechio also participated in the final meeting of the project’s organizers at the Krakow City Office. The project, an element of a multidimensional rehabilitation, is set up to facilitate the resocialization, social rehabilitation and psychotherapy of the seriously affected children. As part of the project, the child patients of the Transplantation Centre of the Krakow University Children’s Hospital travel to Croatia, with one such trip having been organized this year to Medulin, from 21 to 30 June.

During his stay in Krakow, Ambassador Del Vechio also attended the opening of the underground museum below the Krakow main square, as well as the opening of the new football stadium, which will host the 2012 European Championship matches.
