Croatian Ambassador to Japan Drago Štambuk handed credentials to Japanese Emperor Akihito

Croatian Ambassador to Japan Drago Štambuk handed on 14 December 2005, at the Emperor’s Palace in Tokyo, his credentials to Japanese Emperor Akihito, thereby officially assuming the duty of the Croatian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan

Ambassador Štambuk communicated to Emperor Akihito the greetings by Croatian President Stjepan Mesić and his congratulations on the wedding of the Emperor’s daughter, Princess Sayako, who visited Croatia three years ago.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existence of the good and friendly relations between Croatia and Japan, hoping for their further improvement and the strengthening of the political, economic and cultural co-operation.
