Croatian Ambassador to Japan Drago Štambuk attended public presentation of Hayao Miyazaki

Speaking about his work, Miyazaki said one of the motifs close to his heart is also Croatia, pointing out that he used the Croatian coast for background animation in one of his popular animated films. Ambassador Štambuk said Hayao Miyazaki is extremely popular in Croatia, emphasizing that his Princess Mononoke won the Grand Prix at the Zagreb World Festival of Animated Films.

After the presentation, Ambassador Štambuk met with s Hayao Miyazaki and his associates, and agreed on planning his visit to Croatia.
