Croatian Ambassador to France Mirko Galić handed credentials to French President Jacques Chirac

Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the French Republic Mirko Galić handed on 19 April 2007 in the Elysée Palace his credentials to French President Jacques Chirac, officially assuming the duty of the Croatian ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the French Republic

Ambassador Galić communicated greetings from Croatian president Stjepan Mesić and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, with both sides expressing satisfaction with the overall relations between the two countries.

President Chirac reiterated France’s support for Croatia’s efforts to join the EU and NATO, reminding about the importance of the 2000 Zagreb Summit that opened a European perspective for the countries of South Eastern Europe.

President Chirac expressed interest for the reform processes in Croatia, the situation in the region, and Croatia’s relations with the neighbours. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the increased number of French tourists visiting Croatia, as well as the trade, namely the significant investments from French companies.
