Croatia to attend NATO summit in Wales

At a NATO summit held 4 and 5 September in Wales, the Croatian delegation will be led by President Ivo Josipović and will include First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić

At a NATO summit held 4 and 5 September in Wales, the Croatian delegation will be led by President Ivo Josipović and will include First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić, Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Drago Lovrić

The first meeting will be dedicated to Afghanistan and will discuss ISAF’s achievements since its inception in 2001 as well as the future Resolute Support mission. A meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council will see the participation of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and will discuss the recent developments. A meeting is also scheduled with aspirant states (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Montenegro and Macedonia). Other topics of the summit include the interoperable platform, the need for an efficient response to the current security challenges and NATO’s adaptability in collective defence.

Minister Pusić is to attend meetings alongside President Josipović, the meetings of foreign ministers, Future Leaders Summit and ‘Stabilizing the Balkans’ panel discussion. Minister Kotromanović will also hold separate talks.
